Ladies and gentlemen! I have been absent for two weeks! For two weeks my presence has not graced this blog, nor have I shared the processes for my past two manis here. With somewhat good reason. Before I get to my mani for this week I will share. A couple of posts ago I mentioned that there was a new exciting adventure I would be starting on. Well, now I feel that I can share freely that I will be starting school in a nail technology program starting in January. Clearly this is something that I am good at and I love doing it — nails that is — so why not get licensed to do it for others and get paid. The program I am in is for evening classes so I can keep my job during the day, and attend classes from 5:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. And it should take about 8 or so months before my certification and graduation, meaning I should be done in Aug./Sept. I think this will be a good thing that will keep me busy… and just shake things up a bit. Also considering I have been without a TV since July/August it will definitely keep me entertained. On top of that, I intend on continuing my work with the Atlanta Steam. So, with all of this going on I am also working to get stable transportation to go back and forth to all of these functions. I am trying to catch a breath before I hit the ground running in 2018. If all goes well and I lay out my schedule right, I should be able to keep everything steady here!
On to what you all really care about. The nails!
L.A. Girl Calcium Nail Builder
Nail-Aid Biotin Ultimate Strength
Orly Bonder Rubberized Basecoat
Sinful Colors – 322 Let Me Go (Sheer Purple Opal)
Sally Girl Sparkle Effects Loose Glitter – Lavish Lavender
Opal Egg Shell Glitter Flakes
Eye Shadow Applicator
Small Fan Brush
Gold Striping Tape
Kiss Nail Art Sealer
Pro-FX Supreme Gel Topcoat
So to start, I added my bases as usual, with an new one in the mix, the Nail-Aid Biotin Ultimate Strength. I’ve had it sitting around for a while, so I decided to use it since I am getting low on my Nail-Aid 3minute Artificials hardener. I like it, but not as much as the 3minute Artificials. Something is different about the texture.
From there I added 3 layers of the Sinful Colors Let Me Go opalescent color on all the nails. and then began decorating. I wanted to keep these simple, as the are inspired by the many minimalist nails that I’ve seen floating across Instagram.
On my pinkies, middle fingers and thumbs I added gold striping tape using tweezers and nail scissors to place and cut. On the ring and index fingers, I added a layer of Orly Rubberized Basecoat. For the ring fingers, I used the loose glitter on an eye shadow applicator to brush over the nails. I did the same thing with the index fingers, only this time using the opalescent flakes. Once done with all the loose fly away decorations, I dusted my hands down with the small fan bush. I sealed it all in with the nail art sealer, and once more with the Pro-FX topcoat. And there you have it! These!
Let me know what you think in the comments below! Also below, be sure to check out last week and the nails from the week before.
These are Jamberry wraps by the name of Fire & Ice. I believe they are retired. My nice friend Lorraine shared these with me because I participated in the games during a Jamberry party on Facebook. That is another story I have to tell in a later post.
The week before I did a nice fall look incorporating a smooth chocolaty looking color, bronze glitter, gold glitter, and gold studs. Any questions you have about this look, please feel free to ask me in the comments!
Thanks for putting up with me and my being off schedule, and I hope to soon bring you along for the ride on my new journey to becoming a nail tech. Until next week, keep that mani fresh! 😘💅
